#5 Notre Dame vs #8 Oklahoma at Memorial Stadium in Norman, Saturday at 8pm EST on ABC.
- Oklahoma may have lost a game and may be ranked lower than the Irish, but the odds-makers have them favored to win by 11.5 points.
- Coach Brian Kelly says: “If you’re 7-0 and five in the country and you think you’ve arrived, then that’s where as a coach and a team you’re in peril.”
- The bad news for Notre Dame: Since suffering the loss to Kansas State, Oklahoma has been on a three-game winning streak during which it has scored 156 points, including a 63-21 domination of then 15th-ranked Texas. Oklahoma has the 5th best scoring offense in the nation, compared to the 76th ranked Irish, which perhaps explains the spread.
- Oklahoma QB Landry Jones is certainly not mobile, but has over 300 yards passing in each of his last two games.
- For the Irish, QB Everett Golson is expected to be back under center. He suffered a concussion in the Stanford game and sat out last week vs BYU as a precaution.
