3:30 pm on NBC: Wake Forest (5-5, 3-5 ACC) at #3 Notre Dame (10-0)
- Notre Dame is a 24-point favorite
- Saturday is Senior Day and has been getting attention because it is Manti Te’o’s last game at Notre Dame stadium. Te’o turned down a chance at the NFL to return to ND for his senior year. Te’o broke the Irish record for most interceptions in a season by a Notre Dame linebacker and he is 2nd in the FBS in interceptions (1st among all linebackers).
- Notre Dame is 10-0 for the 8th time in school history.
- Notre Dame’s defense is tied for 1st in the nation with Alabama, giving up just 11.1 points per game. The last (and only) time they had the top scoring defense was in 1946.
- Sophomore DE Stephon Tuitt ranks 4th in the nation in total sacks (11) and is 2nd overall in ND school history.
- On offense quarterback Everett Golson looks for his third straight game with 200+ yards passing; Tight End Tyler Eifert (Mackey Award semifinalist–to the most outstanding tight end in the FBS) needs just 5 catches to break a 35-year school record in career receptions by a tight end (Ken McAfee’s, 128).
- If the ball is in the air for Wake Forest, chances are its heading to receiver Michael Campagnaro who ranks 7th in the nation in receptions per game.
- Wake has one of the worst offenses in the nation and their defense isn’t much better (thanks to their rushing defense which ranks 63rd in the nation–yes, that’s the example of something I’m describing as a positive for Wake)
