#16 UCLA (9-4, 6-3 Pac-12) vs #8 Stanford (11-2, 8-1) at Stanford Stadium:
Stanford wins Pac-12 Title 27-24
Stanford kicker Jordan Williamson not only kicked Notre Dame into #1 for the first time in the history of the BCS, but also kicked Stanford into the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1999.
And on Friday night, Williamson kicked a 36 yard field goal with 6:49 remaining in the game to put the Cardinal up by three over UCLA, 27-24, which would be the final score of the game. Stanford now returns to the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2013 and will face the Big Ten Champion (either Wisconsin or Nebraska).
And let’s not forget on November 17th, Williamson kicked a 37 yard field goal in overtime and “Stanford (No. 13 BCS, No. 14 AP) upset Oregon (No. 2 BCS, No. 1 AP) 17-14, denying the Ducks a chance to clinch the Pac-12 North and derailing their straight shot at the BCS title game.”
The sophomore may not be a perfect kicker, but he makes them when it counts.
