The one thing I can offer you that the typical college football writer cannot (sorry Russell and Howie), is an extensive shopping guide. I live in NYC and by default, I spend a minimum of two hours a day window shopping in addition to my purposeful shopping. And even though I am within walking distance of Gucci, Prada, Dior, Fendi, Chanel, Ferragamo, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, Bloomingdales, Searle, Catherine Malandrino, Kate Spade, Milly and DVF, just to name a few, on-line shopping still remains a large part of my day. And if you are still looking for a Christmas present for one of the many women in your life (mother, sister, brother’s girlfriend, mother-in-law, friend, girlfriend), I have some really great finds for you. In fact, here are just a few I fell in love with. Oh, and they are all officially licensed merchandise form the schools, so you don’t even need to worry about authenticity.
- Emerson Street Clothing. They have apparel for over 40 different schools that includes night shirts, tank tops, loungewear, scarves, jeans and sweatshirts. Why I like them: Unique designs (especially on the tops); Scarves so you can still showyour school spirit when it’s cold; and they have Adorable/sexy nightshirts.
- Meesh & Mia. Something for every school can be found here as they have items for 129 different teams. And you’ll also find a more sophisticated look. This might be a good place to shop for your picky sports fan. If you need green tops or yellow bottoms, this is where you find it. Once you pull up your team, you get a wide variety of pieces to pick from that all work together. The logos are subtle, but your school spirit will certainly be clear. And they even get a little fancy with the sequin mini skirts. This is definitely something you can wear out to the pep rally before the bowl game and then go out to dinner in afterwards. And the sweaters are must-have accessories. If someone you are required to buy a Christmas present for is attending a bowl game, this is where you start.
- Victoria’s Secret by 5th & Ocean. The only problem with the Pink line is that it has to say Pink on every item. But, it’s Victoria’s Secret…it’s reliable, everyone shops there, it has variety and it can be found online and in stores. If you’re unsure what to get, this is always a safe bet because you can always exchange the school logo yoga pants for the new date bra (loving that). Now when I can get panties with a big “Irish” across my ass, that’s when I’ll be truly happy. But until then, there are water bottles, sweat shirts, t-shirts and pants.
- Chicka-D. Loving these dresses! They are casual, yet flattering and adorable. They are a little geared towards Big 12, Pac12, Big Ten and SEC country, but if you can find your school in there, you are a lucky girl! The dresses are super affordable too.
- GameDay Couture. For the non-traditional fan. My favorite were the head scarves. The school choices are limited, but there are definitely diamonds to be found here.
- University Girls. The great thing about this site is that it fits a variety of sizes and ages and has has unique pieces. This is where you can find not only your all-green track suit, but also your bedazzled bracelets in your school’s color.
- “Collegeiate Fashionista” by Diane Dal Lago. A wide array of schools to pick from. You can even get a bedazzled Duke crop top. And for the ladies, I have just one word for you: Sparkles!!!
